The last of Formula E’s broadcast pods left our warehouse recently and successfully completed testing in Valencia after a full ground up rebuild. Formula E came to us to service and redesign some of their core pods which look after transmission, media management, emergency messaging and produce the on site fan experience. After three years on the road, requirements grow and change which made this time out of season ideal for a rebuild.

We undertook an initial series of design sessions, ensuring everyone was happy with the new design we put forward before starting the rebuild. Our full service included:

• Acquisition of new equipment to fulfil new requirements
• Full system schematics, cable schedules and documentation for all cable systems
• Complete rewire of audio, video, data and mains
• Upgrading all equipment to the latest firmware and configuring everything from network switches to video kit, including the introduction of a new database for their Ross Ultrix FR2, adding Dante audio routing and integrating two way TSL links between it and their Ross Carbonite Ultra.
• All cable systems, equipment and panels clearly labeled
• PAT checks of all mains and addition of auto-changeover MDU’s
• Technical clean of all equipment before re-installation
